World Sepsis Day

Sepsis is a life-threatening reaction to an infection. It can be difficult to spot, but it requires urgent medical attention.

⚠️ Symptoms of sepsis in adults may include:

  • Slurred speech or confusion.
  • Extreme shivering or muscle pain.
  • Passing no urine (in a day).
  • Severe breathlessness.
  • Skin that’s mottled or discoloured.

Sepsis is a medical emergency. If you or someone else shows signs, call 999 or go to A&E immediately.
